MK25 Air-Balanced Piston: Delivers instant, smooth air on demand, regardless of tank pressure or depth.Swivel Turret: Includes four regular low-pressure ports on a rotating ring plus a fifth vertical top port for flexible hose routing. High-Pressure Ports: Features two opposing high-pressure ports so you can point your pressure gauge up or down. Cold Water Protection: Uses XTIS (Extended Thermal Insulating System) to isolate mechanical parts from freezing water. G250 Graphite Advanced Material Housing: Features a rugged housing made of amorphous polyamide reinforced with fiberglass and graphite. This upgrade cut the total weight down to just 8.75 ounces (approx. 248 grams) and offered vastly improved internal aerodynamics for smoother airflow to the mouthpiece compared to the original standard G250. Visual Identifiers: Features a distinctive metallic-colored, silver adjustment knob with a built-in safety D-ring pin to prevent backing the knob out too far. The original faceplate sticker clearly reads "SCUBAPRO G250 Graphite". Pneumatically Balanced Design: Equipped with a full-metal air barrel and a balanced poppet assembly, delivering an incredibly low work of breathing (WOB) that stands up to modern high-end regulators. Exceptional Cold Water Reliability: Highly favored by technical, deep, and cold-water divers due to its metal internal construction, which conducts heat more efficiently and resists freezing far better than later all-composite variations. Legacy and Modern Upgrades The G250 platform was so fundamentally well-engineered that its blueprint is still used today—inspiring modern iterations like the G260, the reissued G250V, and technical designs like the Halcyon Halo. If you are acquiring or servicing a pre-1995 G250 Graphite, it can be updated to utilize modern Scubapro service components and newer upgraded poppet assemblies for easy, long-term maintenance.
